Today’s Online Marketing Course Is:  Understanding Referrer Logs.

Many hosting accounts provide traffic statistics with the cpanel section of your hosting account.  Although this information can be helpful, often it is not complete enough.  A referrer log is the raw information.  Some hosts provide it in a report format from within the cpanel and others do not.  If yours does not you can usually access the raw referrer log can be downloaded through an ftp program.

In the Marketplace section of Sitepoint.com they have a section where Premium Websites, Established Websites,  or Startup Websites are for sale.  Sitepoint.com has an excellent reputation in the marketplace, but you should still take precautions when purchasing a website.

Today’s Online Marketing Course Is:  Understanding How The Search Engines Work.

When you submit your site to a search engine, its spider will travel to your site to read the content and index it within it’s system.  Often it looks at the meta tags within your pages internal coding to decide how to place your pages for searches.  Even though you may only submit your main url, it will eventually visit all of the pages and index them.

It’s much faster to get your website or articles indexed in the primary search engines by submitting your urls manually by clicking “add url” at the search engine site.  However, if you don’t do the manual submission, not to worry, the spiders will eventually find you and index your website.  The later just takes more time.
